Due to the controversy the Milk Board has taken down the "Everything I Do is Wrong" campaign and has replaced it with "Got Discussion?" An improvement but still not great.

Very recently I posted about The California Milk Processor Board's new "Everything I Do is Wrong" Campaign. To read that post click here.

The campaign is geared towards men who feel that they have experienced the tornado of emotions that supposedly spew from all women when they are on their periods. The campaign urges men to purchase milk and serve it to their girlfriends or wives.

Due to the complaints by so many, the "Everything I Do is Wrong" website has been taken down and a "Got Discussion?" website has taken its place. The Got Discussion? is no doubt a play on the Got Milk? slogan.

If you visit the Got Discussion website you will be met this this intro.

"Over the past couple of weeks, regrettably, some people found our campaign about milk and PMS to be outrageous and misguided - and we apologize to those we offended.

Others thought it funny and educational.

It has opened up a topic that affects women, of course, buy also relationships.

We have reproduced a representative sampling of the reaction here.

Thank you for your comments, pro and con. And for those of you who would like more information about this benefit of milke, we have provided some links below.

                                              got milk?

The Milk Board is simply using the controversy and brouhaha in order to sell milk. After all there's no such thing as bad press right? The website has posted various articles or discussions from various websites and blogs that have had both positive and negative responses to the campaign.

The website also has posted a scientific journal article about the tie between a lack of milk and vitamin D and Premenstrual Syndrome. To read that article click here.

I find the article irrelevent and a desperate attempt to garner respect from those who oppose the campaign. If calcium truly helps decrease PMS symptoms that's fine and dandy but the sexist ads are not.

So, while it is positive that the "Everything I Do is Wrong" website is down, the new replacement "Got Discussion?" website is in no way admitting that the campaign is sexist.
