Damon Weaver is a bright young man who was hoping to score an interview with Barrack Obama during his inaguration. Weaver had submitted a YouTube video and wrote a letter to the White House in attempts to make this happen. I remember seeing the 10 year old on CNN and he while he maintains a 10 year old charm he presents himself with much maturity.
When Weaver didn't get the interview the public stepped up and sent emails on Weaver's behalf.

Weaver eventually interviewed Joe Biden and just recently was able to interview the President. The interview touched on serious topics like education and community.

What touched me most was when Weaver thanked the President for making his dream come true and of course when he asked the President to be his homeboy.
I love that President Obama treated Weaver with respect and did not speak to him like a little child but rather an equal. I think it is wonderful that this Weaver has an interest in social issues at such a young age. I'm sure his interview with the President is a day he'll never forget.
I believe story telling is an art form and blogging is a medium in which to share stories and ideas. Within this blog I hope to cover a spectrum of topics. From the serious to the silly. Here you will read my views and inquiries about subjects such as feminism, other various socio-political issues, psychology, spirituality, sexuality, and general interests such as film, art and music. You will also be exposed to my obsession with cupcakes, tea, books, Hello Kitty, and quirky day to day journeys. I enjoy learning from others as I am constantly attempting to introspect, grow and evolve. During this process I will be jotting down musings on this blog. Pull up a comfy chair and a spot of tea and join me!
