Tidbits you might not know about "Mr. won't you be my neighbor?"
Fred McFeely Rogers (March 20, 1928 – February 27, 2003)
Mr. Rogers was a U.S. Navy Seal in Vietnam with over twenty-five confirmed kills to his name. On his television show Mr. Rogers Neighborhood he wore long sleeved sweaters to cover his many tattoos d on his forearm and biceps. He is reported to have been a master in small arms and hand-to-hand combat.
After the war Mr. Rogers became an ordained Presbyterian minister and therefore a pacifist. He vowed to never harm another human and dedicated the rest of his life to helping children through positive influences.
P.S. I am revising this post. A friend of mine who's comment is below....added a link that states that information regarding Mr Rogers' time in the military is false. Supposedly it is a hoax that has been coursing through the internet. Dunno, but I thought I'd put that out there.
I believe story telling is an art form and blogging is a medium in which to share stories and ideas. Within this blog I hope to cover a spectrum of topics. From the serious to the silly. Here you will read my views and inquiries about subjects such as feminism, other various socio-political issues, psychology, spirituality, sexuality, and general interests such as film, art and music. You will also be exposed to my obsession with cupcakes, tea, books, Hello Kitty, and quirky day to day journeys. I enjoy learning from others as I am constantly attempting to introspect, grow and evolve. During this process I will be jotting down musings on this blog. Pull up a comfy chair and a spot of tea and join me!
