My favorite Vagina Monologue entitled The Flood. Eve Ensler does it best.
People have told me that there is no need for The Vagina Monologues. My argument is that there are some women (in fact many) who very much benefit from having a forum such as The Vagina Monologues. Being that we live in a culture where vaginas are shamed and being that as humans we all have stories whether we tell them or not, I find the Vagina Monologues relevant.
If you are an owner of a vagina my guess is that you have stories surrounding your vagina. If you are an owner of a vagina you may or may not be aware of the fact that our culture sends us the message that our vaginas are for the purposes of other people and not ourselves.
The Vagina Monologues is simply an arena that offers different view points and stories. Since Ms. Ensler has performed the monologues they have been performed all over the world. Apparently there are indeed women who want to share and want to connect.
I believe story telling is an art form and blogging is a medium in which to share stories and ideas. Within this blog I hope to cover a spectrum of topics. From the serious to the silly. Here you will read my views and inquiries about subjects such as feminism, other various socio-political issues, psychology, spirituality, sexuality, and general interests such as film, art and music. You will also be exposed to my obsession with cupcakes, tea, books, Hello Kitty, and quirky day to day journeys. I enjoy learning from others as I am constantly attempting to introspect, grow and evolve. During this process I will be jotting down musings on this blog. Pull up a comfy chair and a spot of tea and join me!
