HAPPY NEW YEAR. I guess.

I'm not going over my last year in my head. I'm not jumping on a trampline for 2018. I'm walking in and will continue my genuine attempts to manifest with out bookending time. Trying.

2017

Let us not live our lives as though within bookends. It's not sinful to welcome new numbers, but 2017 can be just the same as 1999, but we have grown,  we will grow, and grow some more. So here's to which ever year you wish it to be.

The Color of True and False

I have a photo collection that I have titled The Color of True and False.
I'm not sure how I feel about the name.
Everything we see is subjective.
So, I suppose the title is inclusive of us all
You get to decide what you feel, what you need.

Writing on the Wall, Revamped

A couple of days ago,  I was listening to an Abraham-Hicks/Law of Attraction audio while on my way to work.  Abraham was speaking to a man who was disappointed with certain circumstances that were holding him back from what he wanted.  Abraham stated that he must learn to train expectation. To expect the universe to deliver what is wanted,  and to get into the receiving mode.

Suddenly I saw a huge truck beside me with writing on the side of it that said,

 "EXPECT MORE. . . WE DELIVER. "

Livin' Free

Uplifting song from Evan Rock and Charles Haines. Both moved to the big island of Hawaii a few years ago as I understand it, to explore a life of sustainability via minimilism,  spirituality, an tropical fruit.

Evan Rock is currently putting together retreats that are centered around 80/10/10 low fat raw vegan eating,  as well as an embracing of spiritual growth. All good stuff.

One of the elements that catches my attention and interest is their willingness to harvest play and silliness.  Keep on keepin' on boys.

Arms Up

Although, a wonderful photo of Alex Ebert from Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes between seeming human goalie posts, I feel it is an image of joy. An image that exemplifies just how wonderful it is to witness and to experience arms outstretched. Upward towards the sky, is always a good direction. It's the little things that feel so big. Feeling grateful. Blessed be.

Columbine. It's Been 15 Years.

Today marks the15th year after Columbine. Each time this year, I settle in for some reflection, & often a good dose of reading.

Feminist-sociologist, Michael Kimmel, has asserted that mass shootings seem to have a common theme. Male. White.

As a person in the mental health biz, I do know that it can play a part (and I am not suggesting that it had or had not within the Columbine events) but I also think we cannot ignore, that it's not about just illness, and guns. It's often anger, about race, and gender.

There is great love for all those who want it, and share it--but anger is the only real emotion that is rewarded among men. Aren't we done yet? Can we put down privilege? Can we put down patriarchy? Can we create and move forward with resources for all?

To those who died, to those who still suffer. You are bigger than I will ever be.

i'd like to believe that he fully embraces a sense of play, and is not simply delirious from lack of unliquified sustenance. a lesson to us all. don't ever lose your sense of play, for if you do, God, Satan, Santa, and Al Qaeda wins. and so do girls who use the word "bestie", guys who dig girls who do, and those who insist alcohol need be photographed and put up on social media pages. God forbid. find yourself an old game of hungry hungry hippos, remember the days of "playing pretend", discover that doing a cartwheel is like riding a bike, you're never too mature to abandon capital letters, and know that skipping can still be fun at 33. and HR here shows us what is still necessary at 53. i'll check back again, when he's 70, and you are ___.

oh; and i juice.

i'll race you to the swings!

i'll work on the former. the later i have down pat.
