Hit So Hard: The Life and Near Death Story of Patty Schemel

When they were falling in love with Kurt, I was falling for Courtney. When they screamed for Nirvana, I screamed for Hole. I was and am, a big Nirvana fan, but Hole was the epitome of what I was feeling and what I needed in high school. The romanticism that went along with finding someone to identify with during periods of angst.

I was thrilled when I came across the trailer for the 2011 released documentary, Hit So Hard. I'm almost embarrassed that I wasn't aware of this film until now.

Hit So Hard, I imagine is a take on the Hole song by the same title. It is not a documentary that focuses on Courtney, but one that speaks to the experience of drummer, Patty Schemel. In fact the full title of the film is, Hit So Hard: The Life and Near Death Story of Patty Schemel.
