Brazillian artist Andriana Bertini attempted to raise AIDS awareness through her artwork. She created designed dresses, skirts and suites out of quality test rejected condoms. Bertini states that "Condoms must be basic like a pair of jeans and so necessary like a great love."
In addition to raising AIDS awareness Bertini is attempting to be mindful of the environment. The condoms used to make the clothing are rejected condoms, which would otherwise be thrown into the trash or incinerated. Incineration would produce a huge amount in sulfer.
Bertini continues has plans to create a "Venus Hous" which will have furniture made out of condoms. She is also working on a collection of condom clothing for men called "Medieval Art Garments as Body Protection.
