Rock Star is a song that is often called "Olympia" by fans who don't know the actual name of the song. Courtney Love sings about attending school in Olympia, WA. During my junior year of college I transferred to The Evergreen State College with is located in Olympia. While I was there I learned that Nirvana had played at Evergreen many times.
Olympia, WA is a nostalgic place for me for a variety of reasons and cannot think of that place without thinking of this song.
Rock Star by Hole
When I went to school in Olympia
Well everyone's the same
What do you do with a revolution?
When I went to school in Olympia
And everyone's the same
We look the same
We talk the same
Well, don't you please make me real fuck you
Make me sick, fuck you
Make me real, fuck you
When I went to school in Olympia
Everyone's the same
And so are you, in Olympia
Everyone's the same
We look the same
We talk the same
We even fuck the same
When I went to school in Olympia
Don't you please make me real, come on
Make me sick, come on
Make me real, yeah yeah yeah
Do it for the kids
Do it for the kids
Do it for the kids
Do it for the kids
Do it, do it, do it, do it
Do it for the kids
When I went to school in Olympia
Goodbye, goodbye

I believe story telling is an art form and blogging is a medium in which to share stories and ideas. Within this blog I hope to cover a spectrum of topics. From the serious to the silly. Here you will read my views and inquiries about subjects such as feminism, other various socio-political issues, psychology, spirituality, sexuality, and general interests such as film, art and music. You will also be exposed to my obsession with cupcakes, tea, books, Hello Kitty, and quirky day to day journeys. I enjoy learning from others as I am constantly attempting to introspect, grow and evolve. During this process I will be jotting down musings on this blog. Pull up a comfy chair and a spot of tea and join me!
