Whitey’s Lindy Hoppers came to an end when World War II approached. Frankie joined the Army. In 1946 Frankie formed his own troupe called The Congaroo Dancers.
In 1950s swing dance was not as popular and Frankie was unable to continue dancing professionally. Frankie then began work with the U.S. Postal Service. Frankie danced only socially during this time. In 1986 swing was back and Frankie was rediscovered. Frankie was able to teach dance workshops, give lectures, and perform.
