2009 research study fails to find men who do not view pornography

(source)

I just read a 2009 article from telegraph.co.uk that Scientists from the University of Montreal were conducting a study comparing the views of men in their 20s who had never been exposed to pornography to those who viewed porn regularly. The researchers didn't get very far as they were unable to find a single man who had not been exposed to pornography.

The study had to be modified and ended up examining the habits of men who used pornography.

20 young males from the university were evaluated by Prof Lajeunesse. Lajeunesse determined that , “Not one subject had a pathological sexuality. In fact, all of their sexual practices were quite conventional. Pornography hasn't changed their perception of women or their relationship, which they all want to be as harmonious and fulfilling as possible."

I believe that it is impossible for this researcher to have accurately concluded that the men in the study had not changed their perception of women due to viewing pornography.

I don't doubt that there are many many men who would like to have fulfilling romantic relationships however I do believe that constant porn use can have negative affects.

Speaking for myself I can say that I have had difficulties with boyfriends who have watched pornography. I no longer enter relationships with men who utilize porn.

Porn teaches and men learn. Men AND women learn. Men learn that dominance is acceptable and women learn that being submissive is the way in which women are supposed to enjoy sexual activity.

Dominating doesn't have to include leather or referring to a woman as a slut. Dominance occurs when a man assumes something about a woman's sexuality based off of what he has seen from porn. Dominance is when a man thinks he is leading the sex. Dominance occurs when a man on any level thinks that he is doing something TO a woman rather than the two sharing an experience. The list goes on and on and pornography teaches us these things.
