As a psychiatric social worker I am always looking for ways in which to advocate for the mentally ill. I also make efforts to educate others about mental illness while squashing stigma.

A common misconception about those with Schizophrenia is that they always violent and lacking intelligence, creativity, and humor.

This video depicts 4 individuals living with Schizophrenia. This video will offer a more honest look. While there are indeed mentally individuals who scream and rant and rave as you see in the movies, it is not always this way.

I don't think anyone likes to be lumped into one category. So, why do we feel comfortable doing this to others?
