Earlier this year I posted about The Museum of Sex in New York.
The museum's website says that it's mission is to "preserve and present the history, evolution and cultural significance of human sexuality. In its exhibitions, programs and publications, the Museum of Sex is committed to opening discourse and exchange and to bringing to the public the best in current scholarship."
I follow the Museum of Sex facebook page and today the page linked to Johnny Vagabond's blog page which features information and images from The Love Castle Sex Museum in Korea. I have no idea what their mission is.
As I had mentioned in my blog post about the New York Museum of Sex, because sex is different things to different people there is most likely going to be artwork that not only intrigues but humors, impresses, and offends.
Embracing our sexuality and our bodies and our personal connection is an on going journey and it seems that museums like these can assist in teasing our perceptions.
All of the below images are from the blog of Johnny Vagabond - Around the World, Low and Slow.
As an anti-pornography feminist I can appreciate museums such as these. As mentioned above, I think it would be quite strange if I or anyone else for that matter, actually found delight in every single display. Having preferences, boundaries, offenses, joys, discomforts, comforts, arousals, turn offs, the ability to find humor, the ability to cherish, love, or feel frustrated is inclusive when it comes to sex.
