Cheryl Groff aka "Shanty Cheryl" is an amazing self taught photographer. Ms. Shanty also creates amazing stop motion videos which continue to impress me. As of late she has created a short stop motion film piece which features some friends playing at Sunken City.

Those of us who live in San Pedro, California, are familiar with Sunken City. This place is old stomping grounds for me and I still consider it to be the best part of Pedro. When I was a teenager I would hang out here with friends at night. Not the safest thing to do but we did it anyway. And now, I still venture out there to enjoy the beauty and the flat out awesomeness. It is sacred.

In 1929 a sizable section of land began to slip into the sea. It continued until the mid 1930s. What was left was Sunken City.

"Stop Motion of Landlord taken at Sunken City. There was really no thought put into the video. I just decided when they were walking out of Sunken City to take a bunch of photos and compile them for a video. It turned out pretty cool for a last minute project."
