Affordable Care Act will now cover contraceptives for women with no co-payment. According to Republican Congressman Steve King birth control will wipe out civilization
On August 1st of this year, The Department of Health and Services announced that they will be ensuring that health care insurances will fully cover services such as domestic violence screenings, would accept the Institute of Medicine’s proposed guidelines, ensuring women receive vital preventative health care at no extra cost. The decision will require health insurance plans to fully cover key services such as breastfeeding support, domestic violence screening, cervical cancer and breast screenings, and contraception (and various other services).
According to Ms. Magazine, in March 2010, President Obama approved the Affordable Care Act, which required health insurances to cover various screenings however the Department of Health and Services expanded the plan to include various contraceptives INCLUDING emergency contraceptive such as Plan B or the "morning after pill." The new guidelines will be in effect after August 2012.
Don't we all feel so much better now? Well, no, not all of us.
