Porn Reduces Sexual Violence? - Scientific American Study

I respect and enjoy The Young Turks but it'd be illogical to think that I could agree with everything they suggest. This is one of those times.

I am not clued into the details of this study by Scientific American. I'm not sure of the name of the study but I did find an article on the website called The Sunny Side of Smut. The article addresses the idea that porn can reduce sexual violence.

As an anti-porn feminist I can tell you that I don't believe that watching porn can necessarily lead to rape. I do think however, that it is absurd to think that watching porn will curb a rapists appetite for rape. It just seems illogical to me to think that a rapist will continue to watch pornography in order to willfully avoid rape. Nor do I believe that if a rapist watches porn without the intent to avoid rape that he/she will naturally feel satisfied with porn alone.

If anything I think pornography serves as justification to a rapist as they will witness violence on screen. Does this mean that they are more likely to rape? I don't think so but they may feel less guilty about it.
