The second coming of Christ is getting a divorce

Jose Luis De Jesus Miranda
Jose Luis De Jesus Miranda - Claims he is the second coming of Christ

I just posted a some information on this man in my last post on Bill Maher's documentary Religulous. I wanted to add some current information on Jose Luis De Jesus Miranda. Before I get to that allow me to jot down some history for those of you who are not familiar.

Jose Luis De Jesus Miranda was born on April 22 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. In the 1980s he founded and began leading Growing In Grace Ministry or Creciendo en Gracia. He is a former convict and heroin addict but says he has reformed. He claims that in 1973 he had an "epiphany" and discovered that he was a reincarnation of the apostle Paul. Two days later he announced that he was the second coming of Christ. Currently presents sermons to many many followers in Miami, Florida. He has an entourage of 20 body guards when he is in public.

Miranda's followers offer him cars, estates, entire saving accounts, and businesses. It breaks my heart that anyone could be this selfish. I am very curious as to how this man lives his life without any guilt. Perhaps he feels powerful and quite proud of the fact that he has fooled so many.

According to most reports his popularity is due to his version of Christianity. He tells his followers that there is no sin, no hell and that heaven is on earth. He also says the 10 commandments are merely guidelines and that prayer is a waste of time.

Miranda definately has guts. Either that or his ego is quite out of proportion.

“I am greater than him . . . I teach better than him . . . I won’t die. Even if you tried to kill me! I will be president of the biggest government that this earth has experienced. I’m going to change the whole world.”

In January of this year Miranda lost his divorce court case with his "gold digging lesbian" second wife. He will now be losing approximately $2,000,000 from his "non-profit" church. He tried to argue that his church is indeed a non-profit organization but the judge wasn't buying it.

Miranda ended up losing some followers when it was revelealed that he was paying his first ex-wife alimony with donated funds from his church. Some followers however, believe that Miranda's struggles only proove all the more that he is the second coming of Christ. Some believe that it is just another example of Jesus being persecuted.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Excuse me I just had to let that out. I feel better now.
