If you were to go to photographer Spencer Tunick's website at http://www.spencertunick.com
his biography would read simply this..

I have known about Tunick for sometime and have STILL not purchased his 2001 dvd release, entitled Naked World. For those of you who want to buy it, simply go to HBO.com. The film follows Tunick as he photographs nude folks in public places throughout the United States.
As shown by the photos in this post he has since then covered many countries as well.
An interview with artist Spencer Tunick at the Sagamore Hotel
"A body is a living entity. It represents life, freedom, sensuality, and it is a mechanism to carry out our thoughts. A body is always beautiful to me. It depends on the individual work and what I do with it and what kind of idea lies behind it — if age matters or not. But in my group works, the only difference is how far people can go if it rains, snows etc.”

I very much appreciate Tunick's use of body. While he admits the body can be sexual it is nice to see that his goal is not to use it for the sake of exhibitionism or pornography. I also admire his humility as he acknowledges the oh so many people who participate in his installations. He acknowedges that they too are creating art.
