Men who are afraid and men who are not afraid of Hello Kitty

Thailand police use this Hello Kitty armband in order to discipline officers when their performance is not considered up to par. When police are late for work, parking in prohibited areas, fighting, failing to report for duty or giving poor service they are forced to wear the band.

Apparently wearing the Hello Kitty backpack is a hazing tradition for the Seattle Mariners.

I am bothered by the fact that these men view Hello Kitty as an insult? Does Hello Kitty make men less manly? Is it viewed as punishment because Hello Kitty is often deemed as a child's toy/character or because she is also geared towards a female audience?

Well, I gotta say that I have met a few men who actually like Hello Kitty to varying degrees. I've got to say it is attractive when men are not afraid to enjoy things that are usually reserved for or stereotyped as female.

So, here's to men who aren't afraid of Hello Kitty!
