Now this is vile. A product that supposedly contracts the vaginal walls. Not only does this seem dangerous but this product exploits virginity. I don't live under a rock. I have known men who say that they enjoy having sex with a virgin because her vagina may be tighter than a person who has had experience with intercourse. However, I think it is sickening that it is often fetishized. It seems to be more than just a desire for a tighter vagina but also a desire to conquer "unmarked territory" so to speak.
I do not have a problem with the idea of a woman wanting to tighten her vaginal muscles if that is what she wants to do. However, there are other, healthier methods that do not mark virgin women as conquests.
If kegal exercises aren't enough I would suggest heading over to Toys In Babeland. They have other suggestions that might be more appealing. Toys In Babeland is an awesome sex toy shop. They have stores in New York and Seattle. They had opened one in Los Angeles but due to a lack of popularity they closed down. While there are many different sex toy stores and sites that you can visit I highly recommend Toys In Babeland. The stores were started by Claire Cavanah and Rachel Venning. They opened the first Babeland store in Seattle in 1993. According to the Babeland website they did so in response to the lack of women friendly sex shops in their area.
When I attended The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington two friends of mine suggested I make a trip with them to the store in Seattle. I also visited the Los Angeles location when it was still up and running. What I like about Toys In Babeland is that the store is clean, pleasant, attractive, they offer top quality products and the employees are knowledgeble and friendly. The store often holds workshops with sex education workers. It is a positive environment which encourages women who want to explore their sexuality through toys.
