Worst lyrics I've heard this year

Usually when I'm driving in the car I bring a cd to listen to. Every now and then I'll forget or I'm in a rush and don't have time to select something. Well, the other day I was driving without a cd and was reminded of how awful the radio is. Often generic and repetitive if you ask me. I was flipping stations and came across some lyrics which are no doubt the most offensive I've heard this year. Even though I don't listen to the radio much unless it is KCRW (kcrw.com) or NPR (national public radio) but have been exposed to some rather sophomoric, sexist and just plain ridiculous lyrics by performers such as Eminem or Asher Roth.

Anyhoot..

So, a song came on called "Don't Trust Me" by 3oh!3. I won't post the video but here are some of the lyrics.

Don't trust a hoe
Never trust a hoe
Won't trust a hoe,
Won't trust me!

Shush girl
Shut your lips
Do the Helen Keller and talk with your hips

Another song was brought to my attention from the website Appetiteforequalrights.blogspot.com.
A song called Best I Ever Had by Drake. I'd have to agree with the author of Appetite for Equal Rights..the worst lyric line out of the whole song is when the performer sings,

"I can make your pussy whistle like the Andy Griffith theme song"

Can we all agree that not only is this lyric line offensive but it is ridiculous?

I was hesistant to post the video for this song as I didn't want to give this guy more exposure but I would not post it without purpose. I want you all to see the video and allow your gut to speak to you.

"

What strikes me is not just that there are women with huge breasts exposing themselves so readily but that the women who do not have their breasts hanging out are the opposing basketball team.

I do not know the motives of the actresses in the music video. I do not know what their career path is or why they would want to be a part of something so exploitive. Whether they want positive attention but of course will only receive chauvenistic attention, or whether they hope a spot in a revealing video will market them; it dissapoints me that this is what so many are willing to sink to. I am dissapointed that so many do not consider a move like this to be harmful.

Additionally I'd like to mention that "Drake" uses the N-word several times in song. This wretched word has appeared in hip-hop/rap songs for years. Although it is not a new concept it is one that I do not respect. It seems that in music especially, the word is no longer only utilized as slang or casual communication within the black community but is almost a mark of street cred or artistry. If like, if you don't use the N-word then you aren't bold enough, sincere enough, cool enough. And really...who on earth would reeeally think that word is cool? Not I.
