Bones! Bones! Dead Man's Bones!

Hooray! Today is the release of the debut album by new band Dead Man's Bones! Is it too early to say these guys are one of my favorite bands? If so..I don't care!

I've been waiting for this album to drop for quite a while and I am so thrilled that it's finally out for all to experience.

The band consists of actor Zach Shields and actor Ryan Gosling. Not to be left out is the Silverlake Conservatory Children's Choir.

The spooky themed album has dropped just in time for Halloween. Hmm, can't help but wonder if they planned it that way.

The band has described themselves as Gothic, Gospel and Showtunes.

In December of 2008 Dead Man's Bones released their first music video to the song In The Room Where You Sleep. The video was shot at the wrap party for the album.

In April of this year DMB released their second music video Name In Stone.

Today in honor of the release of their debut, the newest music video, Dead Hearts has been released.

The album is haunting and beautiful. Gosling's voice is deep and wonderfully droning.

In a Pitchfork interview earlier this year Gosling had this to say about the project.

Gosling described the motivation behind the album's aesthetic: "You know when you're a kid and you get crayons and papers and just draw whatever you want and it's just a bunch of messy lines, but to you it makes sense, and then they put it on the fridge? From that point on, you're always trying to get back on the fridge, you start drawing things that look like something, like, the more it looks like a horse, the more chance you have of getting it on the fridge. We wanted to get back to that place before we were trying to make the fridge. We wanted to work with people who hadn't been affected in that way yet."

For this first tour DMB is taking the Silverlake Conservatory Choir with them. The Los Angeles music education facility is co-founded by Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The choir members' ages ranged from 5 to 17.

In the Pitchfork interview Sheilds had this to say about working with the kids.

The whole idea about working with kids and their imagination is true," Shields said. "Everything out there that we threw at them they totally embraced and went for it."
